A
little European, a lot
of Caribbean. Those
are the words used to describe this unique place called St
Maarten. The
smallest island in the world shared by two sovereign powers, St
Maarten/St Martin enjoys the perfect blend of two European cultures
with the beauty of a Caribbean paradise.
I
grew up on this paradise and go back everyyear at least twice. You
can sometimes catch me atPineapple
Petes Go there for
dinner and live entertainmentment 7 days a
week. You
might just happen to catch me jammin' with the band on a Tuesday night.
Go say hi to Pierre and tell him I sent you.
If
you want to do lunch, check outTaloula
Mango'sat
the St Rose Arcade. Yes, my first song on the cd is dedicated to
this cozy Caribbean spot on Frontstreet. Get the Good Ass
Ribs or
Ahi Tuna Salad on a bed of spinach w/ mango (my favorite). The view of
Great Bay Harbour is great. If you want to swim or just hang at the
beach all day and do absolutely
nothing, just pick a beach. We have 37 of them. Most popluar are Orient
Beach on the French Side (clothing optional) and Mullet Bay Beach on
the Dutch side. These are the popular beaches so it's a given that they
are
a little crowded for some tastes. You can to Plum Bay, Bai Rouge or
Friars Bay for a more intimite beach setting. At Maho you
can sit on the beach and watch the airplanes land overhead(the airport
runway is right next to the beach.)
